Severe Weather Alert Issued

The National Weather Service has issued a Special Weather Statement for Louisville and surrounding areas.  According to the National Weather Service “SIGNIFICANT SEVERE WEATHER OUTBREAK EXPECTED ACROSS MUCH OF CENTRAL KENTUCKY AND POSSIBLY INTO SOUTH-CENTRAL INDIANA THIS AFTERNOON AND EVENING…”

Winter Weather Advisory Issued

A Winter Weather Advisory has been issued for Central Kentucky and Southern Indiana for Friday at 6pm until Saturday morning. A mix of rain and snow Friday changing to snow Friday night. 1-2 inches of snow expected. Temperatures to drop in the 20′s by Saturday.

Roads will be slick and driving conditions hazardous. Please use caution while driving.

Winter Weather Advisory Issued for Saturday

Another Winter Weather Advisory has been issued for the Louisville area Saturday. Chance for another inch of snow this afternoon. Travel advisory issued. Periods of low visibility and hazardous road conditions possible. Use caution.

Winter Weather Advisory in Effect

A Winter Weather Advisory has been issued for the Louisville and Jefferson County area until 9:00 a.m. Friday. While accumulations are expected to be small, periods of heavy snow are expected. Temperatures are expected to drop and icy roads are likely. Wind is also expected to create blowing snow and white out conditions. Travel may be hazardous.

Hazardous Weather Likely Today

The Weather Service has issued a severe thunderstorm warning for Louisville this afternoon. Heavy rain and lightening with winds as high as 32 mph likely. If you do not have to be on the roads, stay home.

Flash Flood Warning Issued Thursday

The National Weather Service has issued a Flash Flood Warning for Louisville, Thursday through Friday morning. Heavy rains expected. Up to three inches in Louisville alone. Low lying areas are prone to water accumulation so drivers should avoid these areas or exercise extreme caution.

Winter Weather Advisory in Effect

The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for the Louisville area from 7:00 until 10:00 am tomorrow. Periods of heavy snow will reduce visibility and cause hazardous driving conditions. Please use caution while driving.

Strong Wind Advisory

The National Weather Service has issued a strong wind advisory for the Louisville area today. Please be aware.

According to the Weather Service, “IF YOU ARE DRIVING…SLOW DOWN AND KEEP BOTH HANDS ON THE WHEEL. KEEP A SAFE DISTANCE BETWEEN VEHICLES AND FROM CARS IN ADJACENT LANES AS STRONG WINDS COULD PUSH YOUR CAR OUTSIDE ITS LANE OF TRAVEL.”

Winter Weather Avisory In Effect

The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory until 1:00 p.m. Snow will begin to taper off, but will leave accumulations causing slick and hazardous roadways. Periods of limited visibility may also occur. A Winter Weather Advisory mean periods of snow will primarily cause travel difficulties including snow-covered roads and limited visibility. Please use caution while driving.

Hazardous Weather Outlook Issued
